Having considered and reviewed all the field information and security recommendations of qualifying Security Stakeholders in Udi LGA, the Council Boss, Chief the Hon. Ifeanyi Agu, in a fast implementation, flagged off yesterday, the clearing of the very thick swathe of bushes on both sides of the checkpoint at the Nachi/Oji River border where four Police officers were killed by yet to be identified Gunmen some weeks ago.
He urged all and sundry to do what they can to preserve the sanctity of life.

The Mayor speaking through his representative in the occasion, Prince Anthony Okolie the Deputy Chairman of Udi LGA advocated for the de-escalation of violence and a resort to round table discussions as a means of engaging national issues.

The Administrators of Udi South and Udi Central Development Centres, Hon. Nick Owoh and Hon. Regina Onoh were on the spot alongside the Councillor of Nachi ward, Hon. Chuka Agunwa, and the former Secretary to the council, Hon. Obum Onuigbo with other relevant staff of the council to witness the flag off.
