Umuaga People roll out the red carpets for an uncommon Achiever

On the 27th of December 2021, the mass of people of Abanabor Village of Umuaga turned out in their numbers to honour their Son.
They rolled out the drums and spared no expenses as they celebrated the epoch making event.

The Chairman of Udi LGA, Chief the Hon., Ifeanyi Agu was feted and celebrated in such a very rare and important event as he was honoured by his very people who immortalised the Mayor by naming the Village Hall, Hon. Ifeanyi Pascal Agu Town Hall, after the young Udi Smart City Mayor.

The people decided this event as the appropriate way to appreciate the Mayor whose love for his people, sense of responsibility and duty have been reflected in the ongoing construction of the 3.4KM Umuaga/Umabi link road as well as the complete overhaul and reconstruction of same hall he was named after.

They also conferred on him the title, ‘’Chinenye Ndo 1 of Abanabor Umuaga, which they said was most befitting for his numerous selfless achievements in less than two years in office which has brought honor and respect to them as a people.
The people took turns in their various groups and age grades to honor their son with various gifts and poured encomiums and eulogies on their illustrious son for his humility, dedication to service, selflessness and most importantly for thinking home and living out the adage that says that Charity begins at home.

The Mayor in his emotion laden response was full of thanks to his people for the honour bestowed on him while noting that his kinsmen has effectively defied the famous saying that “a Prophet is without honor in his hometown”.
He thanked his friends and well-wishers who came from far and wide to witness the occasion and noted that all his achievements would never have been possible without the faith placed in him by His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi whose exemplary footsteps he is merely trying to follow.

Numerous dignitaries and Party Stakeholders, Presidents General, the Chairman’s cabinet were in attendance. Two of such persons namely; *Hon. Clems Emeka Aneke(Iheanaeboagu) and *Dr. Chris Igbokwe(Registrar, U.N.N) during an interview made glowing remarks about the strides of the Mayor of Udi.
